KIC Scan Screen - The bookedge scanner is defaulted to scan at normal quality 200 dpi, color, auto rotation, and single images. To begin scanning, click on the scan button. If you would like to change the default settings, click on the Change Settings button to expand the settings:
* If your images are mainly text, the recommended setting would be to scan in Shades of Gray, and set the Resolution to Normal Quality.
Scanning multiple pages only requires continuous use of the Scan button. When you continuously scan multiple images, you will be able to preview each scan. You can also select individual pages to delete (red button on the lower left-hand corner) if the scan is no longer needed or if you scanned two pages and only needed one.
Images can be cropped and adjusted before saving. In the Modify Image(s) tab, you can adjust the brightness and contract levels, rotate the image orientation, and lower the resolution quality before saving the file. Once the settings have been adjusted, click on Apply to All Images. To crop the image, drag the blue arrow corners to adjust to the size of the image. Once you have made the adjustments, click the Clip button on top. Making these adjustments can lower the file size fore easier downloads and quicker page loads to websites.
Once you're done scanning, you can save it to the defaulted Quick PDF file format. Files can be saved to a USB drive or can be emailed to any email address. Scanned imaged can be saved in the following formats:
We recommend saving your files to a USB drive. File sizes can be too large to send over email depending on the file size limits. The Save/Send options allows you to change the file name other than the generic "KIC document" name. If you want to send the document via e-mail, you can enter any email address for the file to be delivered to.
